Batu Maung is small town in Penang. It is locating in the southeastern part of Penang Island and in term of food, normally people tagged it as place to eat seafood. Indeed, Batu Maung is famous with seafood. But, there are others famous food as well like Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee) at Astaka Batu Maung, What is Astaka? In hokkien, it is bang-san. In short, it is morning market at Jalan Baru Batu Maung. Found beside Wen Khai Primary School at GPS coordinate: 5.295494,100.280199 and near to Penang International Airport. But don't set GPS and go to Penang International Airport as you won't get to eat Hokkien mee that I mention here.

One special item about this Astaka Batu Maung is you can find twin food stall in the same Astaka, everything double. No kidding! Example, you can find 2 stalls selling Char Ho Fun, 2 stalls selling Char Mee Hoon, 2 stalls selling Hokkien Mee and even 2 stalls selling coffee side by side. Normally, it is a conflict to sell the same food, same drink in same Astaka. However, they are still co-exit together and live harmony. It is up to the customer to decide what to order from...
...And It is also confusing which one to order from. As this blog description said: "Find food by searching the sense of food and then quickly track down what you should eat for the day, I suggest you order the Hokkien mee (Prawn Mee) from Chai's Hokkien Mee （财）The taste is more real by using many prawn to cook the soup, compare to another Geat's Hokkien Mee (玉）Which the sweetness of the prawn soup is a bit artificial.
Above is the Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee) from Chai and below is the Hokkien mee + Loh from Geat. Both also eatable, just the Chai hokkien mee is preferable over the others.
